John 8:44 You belong to your father the devil, and your will is to carry out the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and never did stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he is giving expression to his own nature, for he is a liar (pseustēs | ψεύστης | nom sg masc) and the father of lies.
