2. Activate Zoom for the first time

Go to Zoom.us, log into your account, and then choose the option to host a meeting. Because this is your fist time, Zoom will take you through a series of steps to download the Zoom app.

Your browser may ask for confirmation. Be sure to check the checkbox to remember your choice, otherwise you will go through this process every time.

Assuming you are joining by computer, click Join Audio by Computer. Otherwise, choose Join by Phone and follow the instructions .

Familiarize yourself with the buttons along the bottom of the screen.

If you have multiple audio inputs and outputs, choose the one you wish to use.

Do the same for video.

The Zoom app will also be running .

3. Set your preferences

It is a good idea to set your preferences so Zoom knows what video camera and audio device to use. If you only have one of each, Zoom will select those by default.

4. Join a meeting

Go to Zoom.us and join a metting with your browser.

The Meeting ID is always the same

This will launch the app.

If the meeting is not yet started, Zoom will ask you to wait.

Be sure to activate the Chat function so you can communicate with your teacher or the class, especially if you are having difficulties activating your audio/video.

Doing so open the Chat window. You can choose to chat with the entire cohort or just one of the members.
