Using Fuze

You can access our video conferences through your web browser (Chrome prefered) or through one of their apps. I recommend you going to www.fuze.com, creating a free account (which makes logging in simpler), and then downloading an app. I think performance with the app is a little better.

Below we discuss:

  1. Making an account and downloading the app

  2. Downloading the app later

  3. Check your settings

  4. Join the meeting

Step 1: Make an account and download an app

Go to www.fuze.com and click in the middle box to create an account.

If you are one of those people that has lots of emails, please use the same one you used to register for the class. It makes life easier. Enter your first and last name, and a password (8 characters minium).

You will be sent a validation email.

When you go back to your Fuze account page, there is a link to download the app.

Please click on Profile and fill yours out, especially the picture. It makes video conferences much more personal.

Downloading the app later

If you chose to download the app later, then go to Fuze's home page and click the three horizontal bars in the upper right corner.

Click the Download link.

Choose the app that is right for you.

Check your settings

The first time you use Fuze, you should get comfortable with its interface.

  1. Mute your microphone
  2. Hangup your phone
  3. Mute your video
  4. Chat
  5. More options

Chat

I always recommend that you open your chat window. If you are having trouble with your video/audio, you can always chat and the teacher will be able to chat with you.

When you are in a conference, the plus sign (see the red arrow above) gives you the option of chatting with everyone or a single person.

More menu

Clicking the More menu gives you the option of raising a flag. This is the way of getting your teacher's attention so you can ask a question.

Join the meeting

To join a meeting, get the Meeting ID from the Cohort page. It will be nine digits long.
